What is the ULD? Universal learning design.

What is the ULD? Universal learning design. By Gisela Lopez. We understand that a design is related to a series of elements that coexist harmoniously, looking for a successful result. It is a proposed solution based on previous experimentation. A proposal that was tested and considered optimal for its application. Let us remember that the elements of the design cycle are: research, planning, creation, and evaluation. These elements do not keep a hierarchical order or protagonism; they are intertwined and wrapped as appropriate. So, is it possible to design a universal proposal for learning and claim that this design shows positive results? The answer is yes. The ULD results from various neuroscientific studies that identify cortical areas where the cognitive and metacognitive processes are involved in learning. This curricular and didactic approach's main objective is to eliminate barriers to learning. Take an inclusive look at neurodiverse brains and promote experiences that enha...
